The Echo Park Community Center was developed to connect the people that live, work and socialize within the Echo Park community. The large expansive openings create an open space for various cultural activities. There are views of the pond and city of downtown Los Angeles framed for the end user within the 40'x50' white space building. The black monolithic object that binds the two structures serves as a 4 wall rotating large scale video screen. The monitors will facilitate film screenings, live simulcast sporting events, and user interactive mapping to guide visitors to nearby Echo Park businesses. The stone building will house the storage of lawn and parks equipment as well as upper floor administrative offices.
